Classes over at work
My classes for work are over, for now anyway. I think I still have to take the critical care classes. I'm happy to say that I passed the classes and now I'm ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) certified. Now if we have a code on the floor I can run it at least until the ER doc gets there. I love codes that we get back. It gets my adrenaline going. I love trying to revive people, although I don't like to see anyone having to go through that. Am I making sense? Probably not. Let's see, I do not like seeing people getting their chest pounded on and ribs broken, but if they have chosen to have that done if something happens, it excites me. What doesn't excite me is seeing someone who is 145 years old with a terminal disease who choses to be a full code. That means they want everything done. I remember the first time I got to defibrilate someone. I was so disappointed. I expected them to jump high off the bed like they do on tv. He just jerked a little. Oh well...so much for my sick choices for excitement. I'm just glad I passed the classes and now I can concentrate on being an RN. I'm going to work a couple of weeks on day shift so I can get the feel of really doing my job with all the doctors and families and stuff. I need to get busy on my nasty house now. Have a good day!

About Me
- Vicki
- I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
